Turn of the century solid Rosewood spoon back chair made by the renowned Victorian furniture makers T Simpson and Son who made extremely expensive and exceptionally well made furniture from the 1880’s until after the second world war.
This beautiful spoon back chair is solid hand carved rosewood and has recently reupholstered and rebraided. Original padding is still in excellent condition but a little extra padding had been added for additional comfort. As was typical of the time, the chair has a ‘show bottom’ as the Victorian and Edwardian craftspeople were rightly proud of their work and wanted to show it off. The chair also has its original castors. An absolutely fantastic chair, still in superb condition for its age, a perfect example of the wonder of the Victorian and Edwardian periods.
